Episode 23: Sscope Inc.
Sscope Inc. is a non-profit, registered charity that has been providing employment to the homeless and those living with a mental health illness through our environmentally friendly social enterprise ventures since 1991. Safe housing coupled with a peer-led supportive environment helps to empower the individual and may augment a person's journey of recovery, providing them with a fresh start and long term plan of action. Sscope's unique structure also enables the organization to rely almost completely on income from their services, enabling a more efficient and less wasteful financial model.

Angela McCaughan, Executive Director
Angela is a social entrepreneur with a background in construction. Her passion for empowering marginalized members of society led her to becoming engaged with SSCOPE Inc., first as a Board member then taking on the Executive Director role in 2016. Her innovative approaches and business acumen have led to additional opportunities and revenue for SSCOPE Inc.

Saleha Komal, Communications Specialist
Since coming to Canada Canada, Saleha has been an active volunteer throughout high school and university, including the Arts Student Body Council and the Muslim Students Association at the University Of Manitoba. As the Communications Specialist at Sscope Inc., she handles multiple tasks, including all internal and external communications, petition writing and, and working hands on with the community of downtown Winnipeg, doing whatever she can to help those in need.
