About Us

Since our revitalization in 1997, UMFM has been providing a diverse range of music, talk, and specialty programming to the Winnipeg community. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer an alternative form of media for our listeners by providing a forum for music and voices that may otherwise go without. UMFM can be heard throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas at 101.5 on the FM dial.

UMFM is primarily run by volunteers, comprised of students from the University of Manitoba, and community members in and around Winnipeg! You can access our live stream online here.

We love to hear your feedback! If you have any comments, questions, or inquiries of any other kind that you would like to see addressed by the staff, a committee, or a programmer at the station, just drop us a line at info@umfm.com and we’ll do our best to get you the information you need as soon as possible.

UMFM 101.5 broadcasts at 1200 watts from the University of Manitoba campuses, which are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate and Dene, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We acknowledge that our water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation. We respect the treaties that were signed here and across Canada, while acknowledging the harms and mistakes of the past.
