Breaking Bard
The unlikely premise (to me) of mixing Shakespeare and improv worked very well on the afternoon I attended. The show started with the traditional improv gambit of asking the audience for prompts. But then was an impressive prologue in near-perfect iambic pentameter. The actors then took turns on stage, performing a nearly chaotic series of skits that seemed to have nothing to do with each other, but as the action progressed, earlier elements started working their way into the text, resulting in a satisfying but surprisingly dark conclusion. Each show is different, so you might not have the same impression as I did, but you are almost certain to be entertained by the performers’ skill.
