Episode 3: Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba

The Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba is a self-help organization dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy for those living with a mood disorder, co-occurring disorders, or other mental health illnesses. They increase public awareness about mood disorders and empower people to develop hope and recovery, and build an understanding community in the awareness of mood disorders through providing support and recovery to those living with mood disorders. They strive to be a centre of excellence for grassroots community mental health in an open yet confidential atmosphere.

Rita is passionate about working in the not for profit sector particularly on humanitarian /social issues , mental health , career transition, migration , settlement, arts, culture and managing organizational change. In January 2021, she was honoured with a 150 Manitoba Women Trailblazer Award, which salutes the contributions that Manitoba woman have made to social justice, arts, sports, politics, community activities and promoting democracy while developing this great province.

Hard working with a passion and drive for Mental Health Advocacy, Eileen is currently studying psychiatric nursing at Brandon University/University of Winnipeg while working as the Women's Program Manager at Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba.
