On episode one of Engage!, we speak with Elliott Walsh, Man­ag­er of Stu­dio 393, a free youth-led arts stu­dio & an ini­tia­tive of Winnipeg’s Graf­fi­ti Art Pro­gram­ming Inc.

The Graf­fi­ti Gallery offers emerg­ing young artists an oppor­tu­ni­ty to show their work and has been able to fill a void in Win­nipeg’s arts and cul­ture scene. More than 700 emerg­ing artists have per­formed or shown their work through the gallery.

  • Elliott Walsh - Manager, Studio 393

    Elliott Walsh is Nestor Wynrush. Born in Winnipeg (Treaty 1 Territory), raised in Mississauga. This first-generation Canadian taps his West Indian roots to cook up an authentic pot-au-feu that can aptly be described as "Black-Prairie, Soulful-Muddy Water Folk Rap." The love of storytelling, and sharing ideas of accessibility have found him playing shows coast to coast, into the US and Europe. For 20 years Elliott has been involved with Hip Hop music workshop facilitating. Graffiti Art Programming in Winnipeg has been one of his main employers through out that time. He is currently the manager of Studio 393, one of its satellites. It’s arts youth drop-in program.
