Dr. Pur­na Sen is leav­ing UN Women after 5−1÷2 years as first Pol­i­cy Direc­tor and then Exec­u­tive Coor­di­na­tor and Spokesper­son on Sex­u­al Harass­ment and Oth­er Forms of Dis­crim­i­na­tion. She spoke about the work, includ­ing the effects of the hier­ar­chi­cal nature of the UN, #MeToo, COVID19, and Black Lives Mat­ter, on the strug­gle for safe­ty and equal­i­ty for women around the world. Dr. Sen is a well-known glob­al activist and schol­ar in the areas of women, gen­der, and human rights.
