Despite Pres­i­dent Ruto’s announce­ment that severe El Niño rains would not affect Kenya, the coun­try’s mete­o­rol­o­gist was right — there are floods and dis­as­ters and dis­eases seri­ous­ly affect­ing the pop­u­lus this rainy sea­son.
