Whoop It Up...With UMFM

On our 11th and final episode, Broose is joined by up and coming Portage singer-songwriter Rhea Goertzen!

Rhea Goertzen, returning to the Whoop & Hollar stage, is an emerging, young singer-songwriter from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Rhea, along with her father Ed Goertzen, have been gaining a lot of attention in the Manitoba music scene as they capture audiences with their unique acoustic style.

Recently, they have opened for Juno Award winner George Canyon and Rhea claimed 1st place in the Manitoba Country Voice competition. While performing at a variety of venues and festivals such as Dauphin’s Countryfest, they have wowed the critics with their poetic blend of classic and contemporary. There is nothing like the obvious connection and harmony that is found when family makes music together.

Don’t miss Rhea Goertzen as part of this year’s Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival in beautiful Portage La Prairie on Saturday, August 26th as she performs 3 shows at the Red Barn/Harlequin Hangout stage — at 1, 2:15 and 3:30PM!
