This is an unusual year for Pride, and we’re all a little more isolated than we would like to be. To combat isolation, I’ve made it a priority to connect personally with 2SLGBTQIA+ musicians. In addition, this allows me to meet with some wonderful humans and be reminded of all the little moments of connection and fun the 2SLGBTQIA+ community has brought me over the years. It helps me get through this year, and look forward to the time when our community can come together in person again.

As you’ll know from part 1, interviewing The Divys was a lovely throwback to the days of in-person conversations as William and Kliffee are extraordinarily easy to talk to about everything from music to TV. This talented new wave duo is literally everywhere, winning contests and featuring in TV shows and movies, but this doesn’t stop them from being understated and modest about their musical stylings. If you’re looking for a band to hit you with some nostalgia while providing new favorites The Divys are the ideal fit for you. Take a listen and put The Divys on your list of artists to track for a show post-quarantine. Fingers crossed we will see them in Canada one day! When they get here, hide your asshole friends and show your best side to uphold that beautiful Canadian impression of politeness and friendly faces.
