Greek philosopher Aristotle said there are three types of friendship. One enjoys the benefits each person brings to it. Business partners and schoolmates are such friends of utility.
A second embraces the pleasure of company. Fishing buddies or dance partners are friends of pleasure.
The third Aristotle called friendship of the good, which is built on mutual respect. This type is as individual as you are.
On rare occasions a friendship embraces all three types, and it is this week’s Nasha Kasha story.
