March 16, 2021: Rockets, Disney, and Operation Paperclip
In 1945, the Second World War came to an end, and by 1952 Wernher von Braun had become one of the leading figures behind America’s spacefaring ambitions. Throughout the 50s, as the Germna rocket scientist appeared on Disney TV programs, wrote articles in magazines, and became one of the top experts on rocketry, his history as a devout Nazi and SS officer was plastered over by black ink and lies.
