Let's Talk About...

Automation, specifically the use of machines to increase the productive capabilities of an industry, has been a boogeyman for politicians, labourers, and academics since the 1800s. We were afraid that these new-fangled machines would replace us, make us unemployable, and in a world where you need to work to survive…maybe even kill us. Even Karl Marx wrote on the dangers that automation brought with it, writing on the mindless automatons who would even further reduce the vale of productive labour, but he also mentioned the flip side.

On this episode of Let’s Talk About, Jason dives into the world of automation, and the two sides arguing it will help, or harm, society.
