September 15, 2021: Medgar Evers Memorial
This week we mark 50 years since the murder of civil rights leader Medgar Evers on June 12, 1963. Four days later the memorial service was held in Jackson Mississippi. Veteran Pacifica journalist, Dale Minor was there to document the funeral , the mourning procession, and the demonstration and near riot that blossomed from its conclusion. The original program called, Where do we go from here? was 1 hour and 26 minutes. We present the first 55 minutes and hope that you will visit us online at pacificaradioarchives.org to hear or get a copy of the unedited version. Consider giving it to a teacher or a library.
