In this repeat edi­tion of First Voic­es Radio, lis­ten to Waziy­ataw­in, Wah­petun­wan Dako­ta from the Pez­i­hutaz­izi Otun­we (Yel­low Med­i­cine Vil­lage) in south­west­ern Min­neso­ta. She is a schol­ar, his­to­ri­an, author and anti-colo­nial activist. She is inter­viewed by Der­rick Jensen who has been called the philoso­pher-poet of the envi­ron­men­tal move­ment.” Der­rick is a long­time grass­roots envi­ron­men­tal activist and author of more than 25 books, includ­ing: A Lan­guage Old­er Than Words,” Endgame,” and The Myth of Human Suprema­cy.” This pre­sen­ta­tion took place at the 2011 Earth at Risk Con­fer­ence in Berke­ley, Cal­i­for­nia. Der­rick, who was a guest on First Voic­es Radio in June 2019, inter­viewed a num­ber of peo­ple who each hold an impas­sioned cri­tique of this cul­ture and can offer ideas on what can be done to build a real resis­tance movement.
