Fascinatin' Rhythm

One of the very finest of all British jazz exports, composer/​pianist George Shear­ing proved to be one of the great­est jazz pianist of all time, He, along with John Dankworth, Cleo Laine, Ted Heath, Ron­nie Scott, Ralph Sharon, and Tub­by Hayes brought their brands of jazz to the world, enrich­ing us foreveer. Shear­in’s clas­sic Lul­la­by of Bird­land’ has been played by near­ly every notable jazz pianist some­time in their careers. We have invit­ed such artists as Mel Torme, Peg­gy Lee Dave Miller, Louis Stew­art, Neil Swain­son, The Mont­gomery Broth­ers, Robert Farnon, Nat King Cole, and Dako­ta Sta­ton to name a few who have had the priv­iledge to have per­formed with this artists. By the way, George was born on August 13or 1919, and passed a waya just a few years ago. He could play every style and he jsut hap­pened to be blind. He also played with many oth­er of the world’s finest artists includ­ing Toots Thiele­mans Gary Bur­ton, Jim Hall, and Bud­dy DeFranco.
