Kathy intro­duces us to Petropo­et­ics which refers to poet­ry about fos­sil fuels rep­re­sent­ing an artis­tic visu­al­iza­tion of the cul­ture sur­round­ing oil and gas. Kathy reads her poem enti­tled Shell Queen” which was com­mis­sioned by Shell Cana­da and show­cas­es the hard­ship of work­ers labour­ing in the Alber­ta tar sands. Kathy then reads her poem enti­tled Always Knew (I Loved the Sky)” where she plays upon our infi­nite con­cept of sky we hold on to; through her poet­ic words, she tells us not is all well with Sky in the era of cli­mate change. Things take a turn for the worst when Eric tries to intro­duce Renew­po­et­ics and tries a poem of his own. Robert cries ouch…
