At The Edge Of Canada: Indigenous Research

Today our guest is Jaimie Isaac, curator of Contemporary Indigenous Art at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Jaimie gives me the guided tour of her exhibit — Boarder X — which brings together the work of multiple Indigenous authors from Canada and around the world to showcase artistic impressions of boarding culture in Indigenous communities. The interview is a noisey one as Jaimie’s exhibit is multimodal and polyphonic, but throughout the tour we revisit conversations of boarding culture, artistic impressions, and contemporary Indigenous art installation style while also discussing the curating process. Boarder X will be on display until April 12 at the WAG.
