At The Edge Of Canada: Indigenous Research

On Thurs­day, Mar. 23, the Cana­di­an Coun­cil for Abo­rig­i­nal Busi­ness host­ed a Hot Top­ic Series Event in the Provencher Ball­room of the Fort Gar­ry Hotel to dis­cuss the future of renew­able ener­gy devel­op­ment in First Nation com­mu­ni­ties. Pres­i­dent and CEO of AABC J.P. Gladu invit­ed three lead­ers in FN Eco­nom­ic Devel­op­ment from Ontario-based Indige­nous com­mu­ni­ties: Matt Jamieson (Six Nations), Byron LeClair (Pic Riv­er), and Jon Beaucage (Wasuks­ing). Mod­er­at­ed by MLA of Fort Rouge, Wab Kinew, the guests were invit­ed to talk about the state of renew­able ener­gy devel­op­ment and inno­va­tion while dis­cussing the cur­rent and future land­scape of part­ner­ships with indus­try, gov­ern­ment and oth­er FNMI com­mu­ni­ties.
