Tick­ets are on sale NOW for the First Annu­al Win­nipeg Crankie Fes­ti­val, which takes place at​Cres­cent Fort Rouge Unit­ed Church​,​Sep­tem­ber 21 – 23. The fes­ti­val will ben­e­fit Home Routes FolkSchool, a new edu­ca­tion­al project that is part of the Win­nipeg-based Home Routes house con­cert network.

The Fes­ti­val will be an col­lab­o­ra­tive fes­ti­val expe­ri­ence by intro­duc­ing “​Crankies.” a 19th cen­tu­ry sto­ry­telling art form, a fore­run­ner of mod­ern-day film.

Fri­day, Sat­ur­day and Sun­day evening acts include​The Small Glories​;​
Del Bar­ber;​Scott Nolan​; Red Moon Road​; Al Sim­mons, Peter Paul Van Camp,​The D.Rangers, Lin­da McRae, Nathan Rogers, Anna and Elizabeth. 

Sat­ur­day and Sun­day work­shops occur from 10:00am to 6pm, and include Home Routes FolkSchool class­es, in gui­tar fid­dle, ban­jo, vocal styling, ukulele, per­cus­sion, and more… A jam Room, and The Crankie Work­shop The­atre which will host Crankie Mak­ing, as well as fea­ture musi­cal per­for­mances, all for only $5 for the whole weekend.
