Second Annual Manitoba Podcast Festival
On Sept. 29, in recognition of International Podcast Day, Winnipeg’s podcasting community is getting together at the Park Theatre for its second annual afternoon of networking, education and more.
The Manitoba Podcast Festival features local podcast hosts, producers, and other members of the broadcast media (DIY or otherwise). They’re joining forces to help up-and-coming podcasters develop their skills and their unique voice, and to highlight some of the excellent work in the medium happening just below the mainstream in this province.
The event will feature panel discussions, a live on-stage recording, production and release of a podcast, in-depth audio tips from local recording studio Precursor Productions, and more!
New this year is an opportunity for listeners to meet and greet a number of local podcasters of all genres, many of whom will be recording and broadcasting live right from the Park Theatre!
Among the shows involved are Witchpolice Radio, Thick n’ Sweaty, Koj‑B Films Podcast, Beaver Does Movies, This Ain’t Babysittin’, Winnipeg’s Finest, The Reel Debaters, Giving Up The Ghost, SeanGeek Podcast, and many more!
Audience members are encouraged to participate in Q&A sessions after each panel and to network with established broadcasters in the community.
The Manitoba Podcast Festival takes place Sept. 29 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Park Theatre, 698 Osborne St. Admission is only $5.
