In The Bal­lad of John­ny Boy, three beings in the after­life take pos­ses­sion of a new­ly deceased per­son from New­found­land named John and decide to re-cre­ate his life’s story.

The sto­ry is weird and high­ly unusu­al but works sur­pris­ing­ly well as a musi­cal. The actors are full of ener­gy and are con­stant­ly chang­ing char­ac­ters and instru­ments. The show also leaves you think­ing if we need to achieve fame or great accom­plish­ments to some­how jus­ti­fy our lives. It’s a won­der­ful show and if you missed it four years ago, you should def­i­nite­ly see it now.
