Theatre Reviews

At the beginning of this show, author/performer Cory Wojcik claims that he breaks every rule of theatre. Not by a long shot. He obeys the first rule, telling the truth, and many others, including engaging the audience’s hearts and minds, maintaining dramatic tension, and performing to the very best of one’s ability, which in Cory’s case is extraordinary.

The production itself uses the framework of songs his mother loved, with a great back-up band accompanying him as he sings songs that illuminate his mother and various other people in his life, interspersed with dramatic storytelling. I can’t recommend this performance highly enough, and I think that everyone who attended opening night would agree with me.
