The Man­i­to­ba Asso­ci­a­tion for Rights and Lib­er­ties is proud to intro­duce Manitoba’s newest film fes­ti­val and cul­tur­al event. The March 21st: Human Rights Film Fes­ti­val! This fes­ti­val was devel­oped in 2010 to increase pub­lic aware­ness of the work need­ed for the elim­i­na­tion of social inequal­i­ty and racial dis­crim­i­na­tion. It high­lights March 21 the Inter­na­tion­al Day for the Elim­i­na­tion of Racial Dis­crim­i­na­tion, and show­case a film selec­tion that address human rights con­cerns and issues regard­ing racism and social inequal­i­ty. The fes­ti­val aims to draw atten­tion to these issues and to pro­mote dis­cus­sion around them.

Mon­day, March 21st

Province of Man­i­to­ba DVD launch: My Home is Man­i­to­ba” Diver­si­ty Aware­ness for New­com­ers — Open­ing night recep­tion and refresh­ments to fol­low, 6pm doors open, 6:30pm pro­gram starts, at the Gar­rick Cin­e­ma — FREE.

Tues­day March 22nd

Live/​Life From 95” short film & pan­el dis­cus­sion about the real­i­ty and impact racism and social inequal­i­ties have on Abo­rig­i­nal and Immi­grant youth, 7:30pm, Mil­len­ni­um Library — FREE.

Wednes­day March 23rd

On Our Watch” short film, life sto­ries from a Holo­caust Sur­vivor & Lost Boy of Sudan; dis­cus­sion of the impact & real­i­ty of racism & geno­cide, 7:30pm, Mil­len­ni­um Library — FREE.
