Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Manitoba was forced to cancel its annual BFA Graduating Exhibition. As a result, the artwork created by students during their final year of the program went unseen…until now. Hindsight 2020 will feature artwork from students of the University of Manitoba’s 2020 BFA graduating class, showcasing the best of their work from their graduating year. The artwork on display will feature a broad range of subject matter and skillful application of varied mediums including oil paintings, watercolor paintings, installations, mixed media, collage and inkjet prints. We are pleased to celebrate the hard work of these emerging artists, and to support them in the early stages of their careers. This milestone event will mark the first in-person public exhibition at Graffiti Gallery since March 2020. We look forward to gathering together once again to celebrate the rich cultural output of Winnipeg’s artistic community.
The opening event will include live music by pop trio Veneer, DJ Tessa Chartrand and hip-hop artists Jimmy the Jamster and JayRed. Food will be served outside, in accordance with public health orders. Masks will be mandatory upon entry into Graffiti Gallery and social distancing will be strictly observed.
