Happy Holidays From UMFM!
From our radio family to you and yours, we wishing you nothing but the best over the holidays and in the year ahead! Though the better part of the last 2 years has been stressful and weird, we remain steadfast in our belief that by sticking together we can hopefully come out of this COVID-induced haze in the new year.
Starting Monday December 20th and running until Tuesday January 4th, the station will be closed — yes, we realize that we’ve been closed since March 2020, but we mean that our staff and volunteers will be taking some well earned days away from radio related things. While some programs will run as usual, others are taking a break and in their stead we’ll be bringing you some special seasonal programming. During the break some of our syndicated talk programming, including Democracy Now will be airing repeats or maybe pre-empted for some seasonal or end of the year specials.
It’s certainly been a couple of strange years for our volunteers — we’ve been programming from home for the past 21 months, but we are hopeful that better days are on the near horizon. With the University Of Manitoba slowing opening up again in January, we are aiming to get our programmers back to doing what they love to do — being in the booth live each week, making great radio that comes from the heart. We can’t thank you, our loyal listeners, enough for all your support throughout this stretch — your emails and calls have been the fuel that has kept us going, strengthening our resolve and sharpening our focus!
We see you, we hear you and most of all, we appreciate you — thank you for your support.
