Motionball is a not for profit organization that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities. While raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics Canada so that individuals with intellectual disabilities can lead happier, healthier lives.
Motionball now proudly hosts over 40 annual events in 20 Canadian cities. Through these events and as a result of the many individuals, partners and organizations that have supported the movement, Motionball has donated over $11,000,000 net since its inception in 2002 including $1.5M to Special Olympics annually.
Motionball is located in 20 cities and 16 university campus’ across Canada and annually, Motionball puts on their Marathon of Sport — a fun-filled day of athletic competition where young professionals spend a day playing sports with Special Olympics athletes from their communities.
This upcoming January 12. 2020 at the University of Manitoba’s Max Bell Centre, Motionball will be hosting our annual Marathon of Sport.
All of Motionball’s proceeds go directly to the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. 70% of the funds raised within each Province are then sent to the affiliated Special Olympics Provincial Chapter. 25% of funds raised from each event stay with the Special Olympics Canada Foundation and the remaining 5% is directed to the #NoGoodWay Campaign which aims to end the use of the R‑word (retard) in everyday conversation.
