Education For All!
Do you believe in EDUCATION FOR ALL? Are you affected by STUDENT DEBT and HIGH INTEREST RATES on student loans? What does ACADEMIC FREEDOM mean to you?
The Education for All campaign is the manifestation of Manitoba students’ collective vision for a well-funded, high-quality, public post-secondary education system that builds a fair, and equitable society.
We recognize that the provincial government needs to eliminate interest rates on provincial loans as a step closer to reducing student debt as this would be an investment in our communities and the youth of our province.
With the active support of the Canadian Federation of Students, the Student Action Network is hosting a 3‑day event at the University of Manitoba to spread the collective vision.
The event is taking place daily on Monday January 6 to Wednesday January 8 from 11:30AM to 2:30PM daily in the Fireside Lounge, University Centre.
On Wednesday January 8 we are all gathering at this location for some fun and creative action!
The movement requires mass student support! The fight for public education in Canada is part of a global effort to maintain education as a basic right for all. Around the world, governments are tabling “austerity” budgets containing massive cuts to post-secondary education and other public services.
In country after country, ordinary people are refusing to allow a crisis caused by the deregulation of international markets and corporate greed to threaten the public good. In many cases, students are the ones leading this struggle.
Join us! Come ring in the new term at the University of Manitoba as a volunteer and supporter!
