  • SOMA

Winnipeg’s own SOMA came down to the UMFM Live Session Studio, helping beat the blues on these rainy days, these tracks are exactly what the doctor ordered.…if you like honest, emotional reflective snapshots into the life of the suburbs, the isolation, and unique relationships that arise from them.

  • drinkbleachh

Winnipeg’s drinkbleach hit the 101.5 studio this past month to deliver some new cuts before they move to Toronto. Check out this sexy bae here here and here… I think there’s also an Instagram account in there too, but yah gotaa go on yer phone for that!

If you like smooth beats, soulful keys, and lyrics that aren’t afraid to call you out feeling things in your hometown or anywhere you call the home…this is for you.

  • Adrien Sala

A recurrent guest during his musical heyday, as well as a former show host, Adrien Sala recorded a pair of songs on UMFM way back on April 26, 2006. While these existed in our archives and were posted on the old website, we thought we’d unearth and re-post them in honour of Sala’s election to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly on September 102019

  • Glassreel

Winnipeg’s newest indie-pop darling GLASSREEL came down to the station recently to slay us all with their razor sharp and somehow delicately soft pop sensibilities…take a listen to their session now! Make sure to check out their bandcamp and facebook pages for more details on how to check out one of Winnipeg’s best kept secrets!

  • Josh Geffin

In town to play Cornstock (Sunday August 18th at 7pm, 49 Lannoo Dr.) UK artist Josh Geffin made time to stop by and record a session and sit down for an interview on TGIFR. $15 tickets for the show are available by phone at 204 477 9740 or by email at garyco@shaw.ca

Johnny Gluten came down to our studios and brought his unique brand of biblical occult homemade basement jams. This induvial rips the guitar up while crooning sorrowful and spiritual advice for everyone listening. Check out GLUTEN online.
