Norm’s sto­ry takes shape through lit­tle epipha­nies, accu­mu­lat­ing like debris from a series of implo­sions. Its cast of char­ac­ters includes four voic­es in all. Three are nar­ra­tors, inside whose per­spec­tive Shauf sub­merges us for one or more songs.
