Modern Jazz Today joins UMFM's Broadcast Schedule
on May 25,2016 by michael

Beginning this Friday, May 27th and running two-hours weekly, our Sunday night listeners will have something new to tune into as UMFM is please to announce we will be syndicating Modern Jazz Today from 9-11pm. MJT focuses on the NOW and while it originates out of the U.S. the program frequently features Canadian artists, making it a welcome addition to our programming.

The vision for the program - "To create a program that will inform and inspire listeners by focusing on today’s jazz improvisational makers, standard’s arrangers and original composers" - is one that UMFM can get behind as informing and inspiring listeners are primary goals for all our original programs.

We love JAZZ in all its variations and Modern Jazz Today is just one colour in the palette of jazz programming at UMFM that also includes Swing Radio (Tuesday 2-3pm), Rhythm & Sound (Wednesday 1-2:30pm), Expansive Prairie Skies (Friday 1-3am) Fascinating Rhythm (Sunday 10am-Noon) and 52nd Street Jazz (Sunday 8-9pm) and we hope that if you love jazz too, you'll finish your weekend with Modern Jazz Today.
