Featuring up-and-coming authors, Internationally renowned award-winners and more, there's something for every type of reader in the diverse schedule which can be found here

On Saturday, September 22nd alone, the schedule features both Unsettling Our Stories (an effort of literary decolonizing) and the launch of ndncountry! the Voices in the Circle project that is the gathering of new writing by Indigenous writers from across Canada edited by Katharena Vermette and Warren Cariou.

University of Manitoba's Centre For Creative Writing and Oral Culture's fall writer-in-residence Tristan Hughes will be appearing at the festival and was a guest on UMFM's Your Campus Today and Turning Pages. You can hear him discuss his novel Hummingbird on the station's Soundcloud page and look for more interviews with Thin Air authors throughout the festival.

Thank You Winnipeg!
on September 4,2018 by jared

It was 20 years ago today that we made our return to the FM dial, bringing you stimulating music and talk programming to our fair city and beyond.

We've certainly learned a lot during these past 20 years, proudly making some amazing radio. There might have been a few missteps along the way, and we thank you for bearing with us.

We're forever thankful to all of the volunteers who have passed through our doors. Your presence and contributions will never be forgotten - you are the lifeblood of UMFM.

To all of the students at the University of Manitoba - thank you for embracing us, for using us to tell your stories and for making our campus an exciting place to be!

To all of the student executives and staff at the University of Manitoba Students' Union, both past and present, we feel so fortunate to have helped you promote your ideas, your events, your speakers and your businesses - thank you for your unwavering support.

To all of the great musicians who have sent their music our way, especially those right here in our backyard, we thank you for trusting us with your songs so that we might share them with the world.

To all of you promoters, festivals and venues who've chosen UMFM as a partner - thank you for bringing new, exciting entertainment to our city - you make Winnipeg a better place, even in the coldest months.

And finally, to all of our esteemed listeners who believe so passionately in the power of alternative media - thank you for believing in what we do, your support makes it all worth while.
